Height work: regulations and bonds for
Guarantee safety

General regulations for height work

In France, the work in height is strictly regulated to protect the health and safety of workers. Article R4323-58 of the Labor Code requires that any temporary activity in height be carried out on a work plan designed, installed or equipped to prevent the risk of falling. This includes the use of suitable equipment, such as scaffolding, lifting platforms or anchor systems, which must be checked and in accordance with the standards in force. These devices guarantee not only the safety but also the stability of workers when carrying out their tasks.

The development of workstations

According to article R4323-59, height workstations must be built in an ergonomic manner to allow workers to perform their tasks in good conditions. This implies a design that reduces uncomfortable or dangerous postures and promotes fluid circulation on the site. The objective is to minimize unnecessary physical efforts and prevent injuries linked to unsuitable work positions.

Safety and traffic on workstations

Article R4323-67 emphasizes traffic safety in height work areas. It stipulates that passages and access should be designed to avoid any risk of falling. The passages must be cleared and wide enough to allow safe displacement, even when used to transport tools or equipment. This measure is essential for preventing accidents related to travel on site in height.

Weather and environmental conditions

Temporary work in height must be suspended if weather or environmental conditions compromise workers' safety, as specified in article R4323-68. Violent winds, rain, ice or extreme temperatures are all factors that increase the risks of falling or loss of control. The employer is required to assess these risks and take the necessary measures to protect his teams.
